About eComID
eComID is building the Shopping Passport for modern commerce - a shopper context layer that enables brands to understand and personalize every shopper from their very first visit. By combining AI-powered sizing, conversational search and intelligent product discovery, we’re making online shopping smarter, more personal and less wasteful.
Launched in Stockholm in 2024, eComID is already operating at scale, reaching more than 20 million shoppers every month. We recently raised a $17.4 million seed round - the largest in European fashion-tech history and the second-largest globally.
We’re backed by H&M Group, Stadium, leading international VCs and some of Europe’s most successful industry leaders and technology founders, including Helena Helmersson, Sebastian Knutsson, Maria Raga and Alan Mamedi.
Now, we’re bringing together exceptional people with warm hearts to build a world-class fashion-tech company from Stockholm. If you want to solve meaningful problems, move fast and help shape how the world shops, this is the place to do it.
What you will work on
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer who wants to build high-quality product experiences and take real ownership of how our technology is experienced by users.
You will work closely with product, design, backend, and AI engineers to shape and build the interfaces behind eComID products. That includes customer-facing experiences embedded directly into fashion ecommerce stores, internal tools, and new AI-powered product surfaces.
This is not a role where designs simply get handed over for implementation. We want someone who cares about the product itself, challenges decisions when needed, and helps shape the experience from idea to production.
You will help design and build the frontend systems behind eComID products, including:
Building customer-facing experiences used directly inside ecommerce stores
Developing new AI-powered interfaces and product interactions
Working closely with product and design from early concepts through production
Building reusable frontend architecture and component systems
Creating responsive and accessible experiences across devices and browsers
Integrating frontend applications with backend and real-time services
Designing smooth interactions for asynchronous and streaming AI experiences
Improving frontend performance, bundle size, loading behaviour, and runtime efficiency
Building reliable state management and data-fetching patterns
Developing internal tools that help our teams operate and understand the product
Improving testing, observability, and release confidence across our frontend systems
Maintaining compatibility across the different ecommerce environments where our products run
Helping define frontend architecture and engineering standards as the product grows
You will have significant influence over both how our frontend systems are built and what the final product feels like to use.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with strong frontend engineering fundamentals who has experience building and owning production applications.
You should have experience with several of the following:
TypeScript and modern JavaScript
React or similar component-based frontend frameworks
Building and maintaining complex production web applications
Designing reusable frontend architecture and component systems
State management and asynchronous data flows
Working with APIs, real-time updates, and streaming interfaces
Browser performance and frontend optimisation
Responsive and accessible UI development
Testing frontend applications at different levels
Monitoring and debugging production frontend issues
Building products embedded within third-party websites or applications
Working across different browsers, devices, and ecommerce environments
Collaborating closely with product and design
Taking features from initial idea through implementation and production
Experience with AI-powered products, ecommerce, design systems, or embedded applications is a plus, but not required.
We care more about strong product judgement and engineering fundamentals than whether you have used our exact stack before.
Our current tech stack
Today our core stack includes:
Languages: TypeScript, Python, Go
Frontend and services: React, GCP, PostgreSQL, Redis, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Typesense, Milvus, ConnectRPC
Our broader platform also includes Apache Beam, Kubeflow, Feast, and PyTorch across our data and AI systems.
We are not attached to technologies for their own sake and are open to introducing better tools where they make sense.
What we value
We are looking for someone who:
Takes ownership of the products and systems they build
Cares deeply about the quality of the final user experience
Enjoys working closely with product and design
Thinks beyond implementation and contributes to what we should build
Has a strong eye for details without losing sight of the bigger product
Can reason about trade-offs between performance, complexity, maintainability, and speed
Will question existing architecture and propose better approaches
Prefers simple, robust systems over unnecessary complexity
Cares about performance and how a product actually feels to use
Builds abstractions when they are useful, not simply for the sake of abstraction
Is comfortable owning features end to end
Treats accessibility, responsiveness, and reliability as part of product quality
Enjoys collaborating closely with backend and AI engineers
Takes pride in shipping polished experiences rather than stopping when something merely works
What we offer
A best-in-class team with warm hearts and no ego. We care deeply about the quality of our work, while staying kind, humble, and easy to work with. The goal is always to build the best product possible, not to win internal arguments.
A direct connection to product. You will work with product every day, understand why we are building something, help shape the solution, and own the delivery from idea to production.
Real ownership. You will have meaningful influence over frontend architecture, product decisions, and the engineering standards behind the experiences we build.
A major influence on the product itself. Frontend sits at the point where our technology reaches real users, and you will help decide how those experiences should work and feel.
Work closely with AI. You will collaborate directly with our AI engineers to turn new capabilities into intuitive, useful product experiences.
Interesting technical problems with real users behind them. Our products run inside real ecommerce experiences where performance, reliability, compatibility, and UX directly matter.
Freedom to choose the right tools. We have a strong existing stack, but no attachment to technology for its own sake. If there is a better way to solve a problem, we want to hear it.
High standards without unnecessary process. We care about thoughtful engineering and polished products while keeping teams small, communication direct, and decision-making fast.
The chance to shape the next stage of the company. We are still early enough that the frontend systems, design principles, and engineering practices you establish now will have a lasting impact on eComID.
